It is reported that around 6.45pm yesterday (Monday 6 July) a black Triumph motorbike was travelling on the A57 Sheffield Parkway, away from the Park Square roundabout and towards Prince of Wales Interchange, when it hit a curb and crashed.

No other vehicle is thought to have been involved in the collision. Despite the best efforts of emergency services, the rider of the bike, a man, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

While formal identification has not yet taken place, his family has been informed and is being supported. An investigation is underway and we are now appealing for the public’s help.

We are particularly keen to hear from anyone who saw the bike being ridden before the collision or who has relevant dashcam footage.
