Appeal after Alleged Attempted Robbery in Hartlepool

Police are appealing for witnesses to an alleged incident in Hartlepool. 

Officers received a report that a 39-year-woman had suffered injuries during an alleged attempted robbery at around 4:30pm on Monday 31st May on Easington Road near to the One Stop shop.  

A man was reportedly in possession of a crowbar and asp. 

A member of the public in a white vehicle is believed to have stopped to intervene. 

The victim suffered minor injuries and did not receive medical treatment.  

A 40-year-old man has been charged with attempted robbery and two counts of possession of an offensive weapon in a public place and he will appear at Teesside
Magistrates Court today, Wednesday 2nd June.
