Saturday evening, 29th May.  

The incident happened around 8:45pm, when a Volkswagen Passat was in collision with a Vauxhall Insignia.  

The Passat did not stop at the scene, however, it is believed to have come to a halt on the slip road before setting on fire.

At least two males made off from the vehicle and it is believed that they may have been picked up by a black Mercedes. 

The Vauxhall driver was left uninjured.  

Anyone with information or dash cam footage is asked to contact Acting Sergeant Lee Benson from the Cleveland and Durham Specialist Operations Unit on 101, quoting incident number 086832.
