Police are appealing for witnesses and dash cam footage after a collision in Middlesbrough involving a bus and a pedestrian.

The incident happened around 2:25pm on Saturday 25th March on Borough Road, near to the junction with Melrose Street.  

The 40-year-old male pedestrian was taken to James Cook University Hospital with suspected serious head injuries and he remains in hospital whilst receiving treatment.

The road was closed for some time whilst officers carried out enquiries.

Anyone who may have dash cam footage of the incident or just prior to the collision or anyone who may have witnessed the collision, is asked to call Cleveland Police on 101, quoting reference number 056107.
