Police are appealing after a man was robbed and knocked unconscious in Middlesbrough.  

The incident happened around 10pm on Tuesday 26th October on Linthorpe Road, close to Ayresome Gardens.  

The victim, aged 37, was walking towards Middlesbrough town centre when he was hit over the head from behind. 

The man was knocked unconscious and his wallet was stolen containing cash.  

The victim then took a taxi to hospital and was admitted for two days whilst receiving treatment.
