Appeal after Two Incidents of Indecent Exposure in Redcar

Police are investigating two incidents of indecent exposure in the Redcar area and are appealing for information from members of the public. 

The first incident happened as a woman and a teenage girl walked along the beach at Marske towards Saltburn on Monday 27th September at around 6:20pm. 

A man who was in the sand dunes in the vicinity of the car park closest to Cliff House exposed himself and then walked away towards the Coast Road.  

The man is described as being 5ft 8” to 5ft 11” tall, around 25-30 years old, with a chubby face and with thick, dark hair and a pale complexion. He was wearing a loosely fitted washed out dark/navy sweatshirt, white baggy boxer shorts and loose fitting dark jogging bottoms. 

The second incident happened on Mersey Road, Redcar, when a woman and two children walked in the direction of Corporation Road around 3:15pm on Wednesday 29th September. 

A man on a pedal cycle followed the woman and children for around 100 metres from Roseberry Road,  before stopping at the junction of Waveney Road and Mersey Road and exposing himself.

The man is described as around 5ft 8” to 5ft 11” tall, around 40 years old, of slim build with a large gap in his front teeth. He was wearing washed out dark denim shorts and a dark V-neck T-shirt. The mountain bike he was riding was black and the bike helmet he was wearing was black with white speckles. 

Officers are investigating whether there is a link between the two incidents.
