We’re appealing for witnesses or anyone with any relevant dash cam footage following a collision in Thornaby involving a 9-year-old child.

It occurred at around 4.50pm on Thursday 26th March on Imperial Avenue in Thornaby when an electric motorbike collided with a
child on a pedal bike.

Thankfully, the child did not suffer any serious injuries but was understandably shaken.

The rider of the motorbike, who came from the direction of Diamond Road, rode off from the scene towards Sandringham Road.

Temporary Inspector Laura Black said: “Extensive enquiries are currently underway, including reviewing CCTV footage, but I would urge anyone with information on this incident to please get in touch with us.

“Thankfully, the young child only suffered minor injuries but is obviously extremely shaken up by what happened. We won’t tolerate this behaviour – not on our streets.

“Everyone has the right to feel safe in their communities and we will do all we can to investigate this incident and take appropriate
action.”

We’re urging the rider or anyone who witnessed the incident to contact Cleveland Police on 101, quoting reference number 056463.

Similarly, if you have any dash cam footage, this can be uploaded below.

We're coming for those who use illegal bikes to commit crime.

If you have any information about who is using these bikes or where they are stored, call Cleveland Police on 101 or contact Crimestoppers anonymously online at or call 0800 555 111.

You can also report to Cleveland Police online.
