Detectives are appealing for any witnesses and any relevant CCTV footage following reports of an assault in Middlesbrough.

Police received a report of an assault at around 10.30am on Saturday 28th June on Bedford Street in Middlesbrough.

An injured man was found at the scene and he was taken to hospital where he remains in a serious but stable condition.

A 21-year-old man was arrested and charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent. He was remanded in custody to appear at Teesside Magistrates’

Court today (Monday 30th June).

Extensive enquiries are ongoing but officers are appealing for any witnesses and any relevant CCTV footage to call 101, quoting reference number 118726.
