We’re appealing for information about a disturbance that occurred in James Street in York.

It happened at 3.45pm on Sunday 16 November on James Street between Morrisons and Lidl link road, and involved a man running into the bushes with what looked like a large knife.

The suspect is described as a man in his late teens, approximately 5ft 11in, slim build, with medium length dark hair. The suspect was last seen wearing a green t-shirt, black trouser bottoms and black trainers.

We’re particularly appealing for information about a man seen at the same time matching the description above, and also if anyone was passing by at the time, either on foot or in a vehicle with dashcam.

Please email if you have any information that could help our investigation.

Alternatively, you can call North Yorkshire Police on 101 and ask for Callum Johnstone, or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or via their website.
