Appeal following a serious assault in York city centre

We’re appealing for information about a serious assault that occurred on Blake Street, in York city centre.

It happened on Thursday 27 March around 1.30am to 1.50am on Blake Street, near to McDonalds and the Londis store. After a short verbal altercation between two men, one of the men has punched the other man, knocking him to the ground and continuing to punch him.

The victim was taken to hospital and received treatment for a fractured skull and a bleed on the brain.

We’re particularly appealing for anyone to come forward who witnessed the assault or was in the area at the time.

The suspect is described as a white man, in his forties, large build and bald.
