We are appealing for dash cam footage, witnesses and those with information to come forward after a man sadly died in a road traffic collision over the weekend. 

Roads policing officers responded to Rotherham Road in Monk Bretton, Barnsley, around 7.20pm yesterday (Sunday 6 July) to reports of a single vehicle collision involving a blue Audi RS5 which had left the road near the junction with Long Causeway. 

Sadly, despite the best efforts of emergency services, a 49-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.

His family has been informed and is being supported by officers, and our thoughts remain with them at this time.

An investigation is ongoing and officers would now like to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision or has dash cam or CCTV footage of the incident.
