We are appealing for witnesses, information and dashcam footage following a fatal collision in the Dalton area of Rotherham.

At 9.17am on Saturday (15 June), officers were called to Magna Lane following reports of a collision involving a red Mercedes C220 and a blue mobility scooter.

It is reported that the Mercedes, which was heading from the direction of the A630, collided with the mobility scooter as it began to cross Magna Lane, with the collision happening between the junctions at Foljambe Drive and the A630.

A 70-year-old man who was riding the mobility scooter was taken to hospital with serious injuries and has since sadly died.

A woman who was driving the Mercedes remained at the scene and has been assisting officers with their enquiries.

We are now appealing for witnesses to this fatal collision or anyone with relevant information or footage to get in touch with us.
