An eight-year-old boy has been left hospitalised after being hit by a quad bike in Barnsley.
We are appealing for witnesses, footage and information to help us locate those involved. Yesterday (Sunday 26 October) at 5:15pm a mother and her son were walking along Crookes Lane when the boy was hit by a quad bike.
It is understood that the rider of the quad bike was in company with another quad bike and travelling in the direction towards the Carlton Village Working Men’s Club when they have swerved and hit the boy. The boy was knocked to the floor and hit his head. The rider of the bike briefly stopped and then fled the scene.
The parents of the boy took him to hospital where it transpired, he had suffered a bleed on the brain, caused by the incident.
Roads policing officers are now investigating and keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision, has dashcam footage or had seen the bikes in the area prior or following the collision to help them identify those involved and the circumstances of the collision. The boy remains in hospital and is recovering well.
