It is reported that a white DAF Trucks HGV was involved in a collision with a pedestrian on the main carriageway of the M1 southbound at

junction 37.

Officers and the ambulance service attended, but despite the best efforts of emergency services, the pedestrian, an elderly man, sadly died

at the scene.

Whilst identification is not yet confirmed officers are making enquiries with who we believe to be the next of kin.

We are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the collision or who saw the pedestrian in the area, either on Dodworth Road or the southbound entry slip, prior to the collision to get in touch.
