At 12:05am today (Wednesday 8 of April) we were called to reports of a road traffic collision on Chestnut Avenue, Carcroft.

It is reported that an orange Seat Leon was involved in a collision with a tree just after the junction with

Langdale Road.Officers,

South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue, and the Ambulance Service attended the scene.

Sadly, despite their best efforts, an 18-year-old man sadly died at the scene. His family are being supported by specialist officers.

The driver, a 25-year-old man, was taken to hospital with life threatening injuries where he remains at this

time. A second passenger, a 21-year-old man, was treated for minor injuries.
