We are appealing for witnesses and anyone with dashcam footage following a road traffic collision involving a single vehicle and pedestrian. 

At 4.43pm yesterday (Thursday 20 November), we were called to reports of a road traffic collision on Doncaster Road, in Dalton, Rotherham. 

It is reported that a pedestrian and a blue Ford Tourneo were involved in the collision, which took place just outside of Lidl. 

Officers and the ambulance service attended and Doncaster Road was closed for a short period of time while emergency services conducted their work. 

The driver of the Ford stayed on the scene and assisted officers with their enquiries. The pedestrian, a 80-year-old man, was taken to hospital with serious injuries. 

Enquiries remain ongoing are officers are asking for anyone who may have witnessed the collision, or who may have any dashcam footage, to please come forward.
