Appeal for witnesses following fatal collision in Runcorn

Detectives are appealing for witnesses and video footage following a fatal collision in Runcorn. 
Shortly before 9.15pm on Wednesday 9 July, police were called to reports of a serious collision on the northbound Weston Link Road exit slip road towards the Runcorn Spur Road. 
Officers attended and found the collision involved a green Kawasaki motorbike. 
The rider of the bike, a 56-year-old local man, sustained serious injuries and was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.  
A passenger on the bike, a 20-year-old local woman, also suffered serious injuries, she was taken Aintree Hospital where she remains at this time. 
Enquiries are ongoing and officers are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the
collision or anyone who believes they have any dashcam footage of the incident.  Detectives Sergeant Russel Sime, of the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said:
"Weston Link Road is a busy road and as part of our investigation, we are appealing for anyone who witnessed this collision to get in touch.
“The same goes for anyone who has any dashcam footage that may help us determine how this incident occurred.
“If you have any information, no matter how small, please get in touch.”
