Police attended EDINBURGH DRIVE, KIDLINGTON after a report came through of a potential burglary in progress. When the witnesses were speaking to officers, they stated that they saw a suspicious vehicle which they describes as a BLACK MINI, with a WHITE ROOF and SILVER STRIPES on the front and two males aged 18-24, wearing all black clothing and balaclavas. The males were leaving the property carrying items in their hands.
When officers went upstairs the bathroom was untouched and the small second bedroom had been rummaged through, and there was a cupboard on the landing which had been opened and rummaged through. The door to the main bedroom was locked when the burglars arrived and had been pried open with some kind of sharp object. It looked clearly damaged.
After speaking with the family of the victims they stated all the family gold had been locked in a black briefcase in that bedroom. The briefcase they were talking about had been emptied out and the gold had been taken. The family stated this gold was valued over £50,000 as it was gold bracelets, necklaces and other jewellery items, all over 24 carats.
