We were called to Carlton Road at 11.20am on Thursday (9 July) following reports of a collision involving a silver ZT 125 motorbike and a black BMW car.

Initial enquiries have led officers to understand that the motorbike and car were travelling in opposite directions near the roundabout at the bottom of Carlton Road, close to Industry Road, when the motorbike collided with the car.

The roundabout was closed for a short period of time while emergency services worked at the scene and two boys who had been on the scooter, aged 15 and 14, were taken to hospital for treatment to serious injuries which are not currently thought to be life-threatening.

The driver of the BMW was checked over at the scene and is assisting officers with their investigation.

We are now appealing for information, footage, or witnesses as our investigation progresses. We are particularly keen to hear from anyone who has relevant dashcam or CCTV footage of the collision or manner of driving before it.

Anyone who thinks they can help is being urged to report online or call 101, quoting incident number 389 of 9 July 2026.
