We were called to Redbrook Road near the junction with Beever Lane at just after 11pm on Sunday (15 March).

It is reported a white Volkswagen Transporter van was travelling towards Barugh Green when it left the road and crashed.

The driver of the van, a 39-year-old man, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. His family has been informed and is being supported by officers.

Redbrook Road was closed overnight between the junctions of Barugh Green Road and Beever Lane while emergency services worked at the scene.

It reopened shortly before 7am today (Monday 16 March).We are now appealing for information, footage or any witnesses to the incident as our investigation progresses.

We are particularly keen to hear from anyone who saw the van being driven prior to the collision.
