Last night, Saturday 26 September at 6.43pm emergency services responded to East Bawtry Road following reports of a single car collision.

It is reported that a white BMW 3 series left the carriageway, heading towards Worrygoose and collided with a lamppost.Despite the best efforts of the members of public, fire service, paramedics and officers, both occupants of the car were sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

Formal identification has not yet taken place for those involved.Initial enquiries have led officers to believe that the car was travelling with a second vehicle, a blue BWM 4 series prior to the collision.A man, has been arrested in connection to the investigation on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, he has been since been released on police bail.
