We are appealing for witnesses and dash cam footage following a serious collision in Barnsley. 

We were called at around 9.56pm last night (Saturday 21March) to reports of a collision between a car and a pedestrian on Sheffield Road, Worsbrough. The pedestrian, a 50-year-old man, has been taken to hospital with serious injuries.

The driver of the car remained at the scene and is assisting us with our investigation.  

We are urging any witnesses who are yet to speak to officers to contact us, and those with dash cam footage from the minutes prior to the collision, that may have captured either a white Ford Focus travelling along Sheffield Road from the M1 towards Worsbrough, or a pedestrian wearing dark clothing in, or around the Sheffield Road and Texaco Petrol Station.
