Officers are appealing for witnesses and anyone with relevant dash cam footage after a number of vehicles were seen driving dangerously during a disturbance in Billingham.

It was reported that a white Transit van and a small black vehicle were seen driving on kerbs on High Grange Avenue in Billingham at around 4.55pm on Tuesday 3rd March.

A large group of people are believed to have been in the area at the time, including school children, but fortunately no one was injured during the incident.

On arriving at the scene, officers located a black Volkswagen Passat on Braemar Road, also thought to have be involved in the incident, and the male driver was arrested.

The 31-year-old was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and drug driving and he currently remains in police custody.

Extensive enquiries are underway and officers are urging anyone who has not yet spoken to police to call 101, quoting reference number 040410.
