Detectives are appealing for information and any relevant footage as they continue to investigate a serious assault in Stockton.

At around 3.50pm on Monday 29 June, police received a report from the ambulance service that a 50-year-old man had been stabbed on land near to St John’s Close in Stockton.

He was taken to hospital with stab wounds to both of his legs but thankfully these were not deemed to be life-threatening.

Police attended the scene and arrested a 20-year-old man on suspicion of attempted murder. He has since been bailed with conditions pending further enquiries.

Chief Inspector Chris Pringle, of Stockton CID said: “Our officers swiftly attended the scene and arrested a man. As our enquiries continue, we’d be really keen to speak to anyone who may witnessed the incident.

“We’d also like to hear from anyone who may have captured any relevant footage, particularly around the area near Queen’s Park Medical Centre. I’d encourage anyone with any concerns to please speak to our officers.”
