Detectives investigating an incident in Normanby have charged a man with attempted murder.

At around 2.50am on Sunday 24th May, police receive a report of an assault in a pathway between Webster Road and Sandmoor Close in Normanby.

A 49-year-old man suffered multiple stab wounds and was taken to hospital where his injuries were not deemed to be life-threatening.

Middlesbrough CID arrested and interviewed a 45-year-old man who has since been charged with attempted murder.

He was remanded in custody to appear at Teesside Magistrates’ Court on Monday 25th May where he was further remanded until his next court appearance on Tuesday 23rd June.

Detectives are appealing for anyone with information or anyone with relevant CCTV or dash cam footage to contact Cleveland Police on 101, quoting reference number 098600.
