Woman Suffers Leg Injury in Redcar Incident

A woman suffered a serious leg injury when a collision occurred with a male on an off-road bike in Redcar.

Following a verbal altercation with a male on an off-road bike who was on a grassed area opposite Redcar Primary Care Hospital on West Dyke Road, a 61-year-old woman suffered a serious leg injury when the bike collided with her.  

The woman was walking her dogs along a pavement near to Lorton Road when the incident happened, between 2pm and 3pm on Tuesday 22nd August.

The rider on the blue and white off-road bike failed to stop.

He was wearing a light coloured crash helmet, a grey long-sleeved hooded top and dark bottoms. Members of the public assisted the woman, who required hospital treatment but is now recovering at home.

Officers would like to speak to witnesses and anyone who may know the identity of the bike rider, and would urge people with information to call 101 and speak with Redcar and Cleveland CID, quoting reference number 167766.
